I photograph many Dressage shows and other horse events throughout the season. I also enjoy casual photography out at the barn for lessons or out in the paddock. Being a Dressage rider myself, I have a special love for this type of photography, and I know what to look for in both horse and rider to get a nice shot!

Rolando – or as we call him, “Roly”. My mom’s lovely horse who frequently models for me!

The main advantage I have with this type of photography is my pre-existing horse knowledge. I know how Dressage tests are ridden and I know the patterns and where to stand to get the best view of the different movements. I understand how to read a hunter/jumper course and know how to get the best camera angles of the jumps. And, I know the types of shots riders are looking for of themselves and their horses (including the occasional funny oopsies that can happen!). I also have experience in western reining shows!

Check out my recent events page, which will allow you to see the proofs for some of the recent shows I have attended!
